Chick-fil-A San Marcos to Host “Cow Classic” Golf Tournament
The first annual Chick-fil-A Cow Classic Golf Tournament, presented by Chick-fil-A San Marcos, will be held Saturday, May 4, 2012 at the Quail Creek Country Club in San Marcos, TX.
Registration will begin at 11:00 AM, and the cost of entry is $100, which will include Chick-fil-A lunch. Proceeds from the tournament will go to benefit local programs including C.A.S.A, Hays- Caldwell Women’s Center and Leadership Training at Hill Country Christian School.
The Cow Classic, while hosted by Chick-fil-A San Marcos, is a community team effort made possible with the support from Sports Marketing Experts and Rivercity Sportswear, both of San Marcos.
“It’s really a fun way not only to help raise money for worthy San Marcos programs, but also to live out CFA San Marcos’ motto of ‘nourishing the heart while serving the community’,” said owner/operator Jon Sprencel.
Joe Lunz, principal of Hill Country Christian School, stated, “Our motto has long been to teach young people to be ethical, moral leaders. And, when Chick-fil-A moved into town we knew we wanted a relationship with a company that fulfilled the desire we have. To us, they are much more than just the place to get the best chicken sandwich.”
Marla Johnson, exe. Director of HCWC encourages all golfers to register for the Cow Classic because, “…proceeds we receive will serve victims of family violence, sexual assault, and child abuse right here in Hays and Caldwell counties.” C.A.S.A stated that their usage of the money would be, “…able to serve more children in our community be recruiting and training our volunteers.”
